SOSV Climate Tech Summit: Top 5 Finalists Announced

📣 We can finally shout it from the rooftops! Our stellar team of Evaluators has chosen the Top 5 finalists of the Startup Innovation Challenge on Carbon Removal and Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS).

Climate tech startups are playing a vital role in the fight against climate change, and these five finalists will take center stage and pitch to viewers around the world at the SOSV Climate Tech Summit virtual event September 26.🚀

🎉 Congratulations to the Top 5 finalists

🌱 Carbix captures point source emitter CO2 and transforms CO2/e emissions into raw materials, like carbonates, which can be used in a wide range of products, specifically, but not limited to, building materials for the global construction industry.

🌱 Carbonauten has developed a system for industry, companies and municipalities that immediately and effectively reduces CO2 emissions and costs. It includes the production of an innovative material category NET Materials® (Negative Emission Technology). The NET Materials® consist of a combination of CO2-lowering biocarbons with different binders.

🌱 CQuestr8 has developed an enhanced weathering process that clears mine tailings and uses it to store CO2 permanently.

🌱 Mantel is developing the first liquid phase materials that capture CO2 at high temperatures. Their molten borate technology is designed to operate at the temperatures found inside boilers, kilns and furnaces, enabling highly efficient and low-cost carbon capture that has not been possible until now.

🌱 NeoCarbon captures carbon at scale, leveraging existing infrastructure in the form of waste heat and cooling towers.

🙏 Huge thanks to our evaluators!

And a big round of applause to them all for their expertise and support! 👏👏
