Extreme Tech Challenge Welcomes New Director

We are delighted to announce that Secorro Green has joined Extreme Tech Challenge (‘XTC’) as Director, bringing over 15 years of experience in research, nonprofit program management and spearheading placed-based philanthropic initiatives.

Reporting to the Executive Managing Director, Secorro will drive strategy and provide day-to-day leadership over program management, marketing, and operations.

In her most recent industry role, Secorro served as Strategic Programs Manager at the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) systemwide Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Office. In this role, she leveraged infrastructure, resources, policies, and partnerships to increase UC’s innovation capabilities and created new opportunities for the UC community to promote economic growth and public benefit.

Secorro was instrumental in rebuilding the I&E Office to coordinate strategic work groups at UCOP charged with amplifying campus-based innovation and to manage the data collection and communications strategies to enhance I&E’s statewide impact. She led on key projects to support student entrepreneurship, increase Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) in training and education programs, and partner with organizations which shared UC’s mission. During her tenure, Secorro also organized the UC systemwide Extreme Tech Challenge competitions and demo days.

Previously, Secorro launched corporate fundraising, grants management and community economic development initiatives in the U.S. and U.K. She worked at the intersection of nonprofit and private sector engagement, serving as advisor and thought partner to executive directors and boards, to build infrastructure and realize economic growth.

“I had the pleasure of working with Secorro at the University of California’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship Office, where she took on progressively greater responsibilities, leading various high-profile programs, task forces, and committees aimed at advancing the university’s mission through tech innovation,” said Victoria Slivkoff, Executive Managing Director of Extreme Tech Challenge.
“I am excited to work with Secorro again to harness her experience, commitment to excellence, and dedication to Extreme Tech Challenge’s mission of empowering tech founders to create a positive global impact.”

“I am excited to advance XTC in its next phase of growth to deepen global relationships for sustainable partnerships,” said Secorro Green.
“Over the course of my career, the common threads have been creating opportunities, aligning priorities in multisector partnerships, and championing recognition and equity in entrepreneurship for marginalized groups. I eagerly anticipate collaborating with Victoria, the XTC team, and our stakeholders to optimize our impact and to mobilize innovation in the Tech for Good space.”
