Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC), the world’s largest startup competition focused on purpose-driven innovation, today announces 106 startup finalists from almost 100 nations across 6 continents who are invited to participate in a virtual XTC Bootcamp this month with the opportunity to qualify for the Extreme Tech Challenge (XTC) Global Finals 2022 presented in partnership with TechCrunch on June 14, 2022.
The XTC 2022 Global Finals will be in person in San Francisco. Register for the event to watch our 10 Category Winners and 3 Special Award Winners pitch live on the legendary TechCrunch stage.
Competition evaluators narrowed a field of nearly 2,000 applicants from over 100 countries building tech startups addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). XTC participants are competing across 10 category areas including Advanced Materials; Agtech & Food; BioTech & Medical Devices; Cleantech, Energy & Environment; Digital Health; EdTech; Enabling Technologies; Fintech; Mobility; and Sustainable Smart Cities. This year, XTC startups will also compete for one of three special awards: the Female Founders Award, the UNICEF EdTech Award, and the People’s Choice Award.
All finalists will attend the virtual XTC Bootcamp, an intensive mentorship program that prepares them for the Category Finals pitch competition in May, 2022, followed by the Global Finals in June. The public is invited to watch all 100 Finalists present in their categories from May 11-13, details will be available on the Extreme Tech Challenge website.
This year, the public is once again invited to VOTE for their favorite startup finalist from May 5 to May 17. The winner of the People’s Choice Award will win a coveted spot and join the Category and Special Award Winners to pitch at the XTC 2022 Global Finals.
The event will feature world-renowned executives and investors including XTC Co-founders Young Sohn and Bill Tai, Partner Emeritus at Charles River Ventures.
