TechCrunch Disrupt, a world-leading forum for debuting revolutionary startups, added a new twist to its Berlin event this year: top three startups from the XTC regionals were recognized on the main stage with the Custom Disruptor Award and received invitations to the XTC Finals Bootcamp.
Meet these latest XTC regional winners from TechCrunch Disrupt Berlin:
- Amai Proteins , a foodtech company, uses computational biology to improve the food system, by redesigning proteins to replace sugar, with a tasty, healthy, and a cost-effective protein alternative. Huge opportunity given the rise in obesity and sugar intake is a major contributor to this and chronic disease.
- Decomer Technology , a cleantech company, develops water-soluble and edible packaging material, that is environmentally friendly, as a replacement to plastic and other non-biodegradable materials.
- Hala Systems , an enabling technology company, develops technology to harness crowd-sourced data to generate early warning for civilian evacuation. The technology has already proven to save hundreds of lives.
