For the first time ever, the Extreme Tech Challenge wants YOU, the audience, to help us decide which tech startup earns XTC’s inaugural People’s Choice Award and a competing spot in the XTC Global Finals 2021 presented by TechCrunch on July 22nd. The 2021 Category Finals pitch competition began on June 21 and will run until June 30th. Those wanting to cast their votes for the People’s Choice are encouraged to tune in here.
XTC 2021 features exciting and innovative startups pushing the limits of design, creativity and imagination. From artificial exoskeletons that give paraplegics the ability to walk, to transforming biomass waste into fuel, these startups are changing norms across a wide variety of industries. The competition awards winners in seven distinct categories including Agtech, Food & Water; Cleantech and Energy; EdTech; Enabling Technologies; Fintech; HealthTech; and Mobilityand Smart Cities. From a finalist pool of 80 startups, spanning 24 countries, just one competitor will be selected across all seven categories to take the stage as the People’s Choice for the XTC Finals and pitch to our esteemed panel of celebrity judges.
Once selected, the startup receiving the People’s Choice Award will join the special award winners of the Covid-19 Innovation Award, Female Founder’s Award and the Ethical AI Award, along with the seven category winners, on July 22 at the Global Finals.
The Global Finals event will feature world-renowned executives and investors including a panel with XTC Co-founders Young Sohn, Chairman of the Board, HARMAN International, Founding Managing Partner, Walden Catalyst, and Former Corporate President and Chief Strategy Officer at Samsung Electronics, and Bill Tai, Partner Emeritus at Charles River Ventures, and Beth Bechdol, Deputy Director General for the United Nations Food & Agriculture Organization. Other panel sessions titled Going Green; Waste Matters; and Cutting Out Carbon Emitters with Bioengineering will showcase entrepreneurs introducing game changing technologies that are making an impact on sustainability, as well as venture investors and thought leaders helping advance purpose-driven innovation.
