A single photonic chiplet that replaces racks of optical equipment. One fiber in, One fiber out, 45x more bandwidth 5 Tbps per die using patented multi-band comb to multiplex single laser source. The WCG architecture combines several functions that are often implemented as separate optical components. A key element is WCG's multi-band optical comb technology. Instead of relying on many discrete lasers, the architecture is designed to generate a large number of optical wavelengths from an integrated source. WCG also develops colorless and grid-flexible wavelength-selective modulation and detection. Those wavelengths can then be used as parallel communication channels, increasing aggregate bandwidth while reducing the number of individual lasers and optical components required.
